raised eyebrowHas anyone else had trouble passing the nremt-p. I have taken the test three times and failed the subject matter on most of the test is alot of things we can not due in the paramedic setting. Why can we not see the test that we failed to learn why the answer we gave was wrong. My self and five others I know with in two weeks have failed the test, is the nremt just in this for the money or what! My class grades were @ 97% and test site purchased to study for the nremt exam were @ 80 to 98% so whats the deal. Why are so many failing the exam what can we do.

sad i really wish i could help, but i cant. my whole class failed the exam, and its really frustrating because you can ask anyone question, and we can give you the answer. my friends and I literaly, have the whole book memorized. but over here, its like, all the people who never studied and dont really know the stuff pass, and all the ones who study all the time, and do know the material, fail.
its really frustrating.
I take the test again tommorrow, so i hope i pass this time.

wink Some helpful hints that may help you to successfully pass the test: Brady's Series books have many of the answers from the test. When I took it I went through the back Chapter Summary notes and the highlighted stuff (in boxes) on the sides of the chapters. I actually saw the exact same Dopamine drip question that was on the test in the book! I also got the Brady's NREMT Prep book. It had some great questions in there that make you think like the test.
It is a very difficult test...I have been a medic for a long time but have forgotten the detailed stuff. Like, a question on the test: What is "tonic" movement in a seizure?" I know they have "tonic-clonic" movement, but I couldn't remember which was which. You really need to go over details. Another book that seemed to help was Barrons National Registry Prep. Personally, Brady's was the best.

I hope this helps a bit. Good luck!

Hey,

I was just reading some of the posts. I failed the NREMT test first time too! I bought every book I can find; Brady, EMT Prep, you name it! I bought a book from an EMT website called http://www.id44.com. They sold me a small book called EMS Notes. That book really helped me pass. I think EMSNOTES.com sells it for less than id44.com.

The website id44.com has some pretty good stuff on it.

Just study any way you can, books, online, magazines, videos, anything!

I just got the results of my 2nd try on my NREMT-B, unsuccessful. I know my stuff inside and out, memorized my books. I get 90-95% on all the practice tests, but when it comes to the test the scenarios are truly messing me up. Anybody have any suggestions on any prep courses or prep books to help with the scenario parts. The bookwork questions aren't a problem. but getting into all the questions with story lines and the BP, P, R and what to do is really getting to me. I don't want to have to do the 24 hour refresher course if it's going to be just like my class where we're just studying book work and never get quizzed on real life.

You need to remember the basics with the scenarios (keep thinking in terms of priority -- Airway, then Breathing, then Circulation --- 'ABC's as we call it). I scored in the 90's area on all of my tests in the classroom and simply went through every single section on the Brady 'Success for the EMT' workbook -- the questions are similarly posed.

There are often two answers that seems right --- think in terms of what would be the most beneficial action for the patient.

If anybody has any questions, e-mail me at jhcarmouche@hotmail.com

I hear you all! The NREMT exam is a tough test to pass! I failed it twice, the third time I bought a study guide from the same site the guy listed below. id44.com, but I looked and it is not there now. Sucks, because it was only $15.00 bucks or so, and it had a lot of detailed study information!

Brady is pretty good, but it did not help me too much! There book was 1700 pages!
